He also knew all the ins and outs of navigating the museum. He was extremely attentive to my mobility challenged mom. debra c2025-01-04Verified A memory to last a lifetime I am not sure where to begin.. from the minute Rahul contacted us I could tell he truly cared. Not only did we skip the lines.. we felt like VIP’s-he knew just where to go & navigated crowds better than any new yorker I know!!! His knowledge was endless and his passion tremendous. He made history exciting and encouraged questions and discussions. This day was so much more than we expected-thank you Rahul for sharing your beautiful city with my family and I Hook'em Horns2025-01-01Verified Incredible Experience with Europe Odyssey Tours We had an incredible experience with Europe Odyssey Tours, thanks to our amazing guide, Rahul. We learned so much and throughly enjoyed the tour. Katherine D2024-12-16Verified 5 Stars Our family had a great time on our tour. We have two teenagers and the pace was great to keep them moving and interested. They said the tour was “pretty cool.” Rahul was our guide and his enthusiasm was contagious and we appreciated his ability to move us through the crowds and checkpoints with ease. We recommend this tour! Vasudev P2024-12-07Verified Amazing Roman Holiday! I reached out to a few tour companies and one independent tour guide in Rome. Europe Odyssey stood out with a prompt response from Katie. She took my wish list and fleshed it out into an itinerary and suggested the Basilica of San Clement as an add on.Every day the guide picked me up from the hotel. On day 1, Justin showed me the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, and the Basilica of San Clement. He gave me details on the culture of the Romans and the mindset of Roman emperors to help me understand the magnificent remains of the grandeur I was looking at. The Basilica of San Clement with its beautiful Byzantine style apse was well worth the extra add on.Justin recommended me a hole in the wall pizzeria for lunch and I was not disappointed. It was like having lunch in someone’s home. The husband was manning the cash register while the wife took my order. Tasty full sized Margherita pizza, a glass of good wine, and excellent tiramisu for just €17!On day 2, Rahul showed me the Vatican museums, the Sistine chapel, and Basilica of St. Peter. He explained the meanings of the symbolism in the art and sculptures. He told me stories of various popes with humor :-)On day 3, it was Rahul again. We started the day at the Capitoline Museums. He told me history behind the famous statue of Marcus Aurelius and other exhibits. He showed me the balcony from which I could see the Roman Forum a stone’s throw away. But in a grand tour like this, it is the small moments that are memorable. After we exited the Capitoline Museums, Rahul showed me a typical drinking fountain. It was my first time, and the water was refreshing! We had lunch at a nearby taverna he recommended. The seafood pasta blew me away. The pasta I’ve eaten back in the US is junk. I wish we had more time for dessert. But we had to head for the Borghese gallery. I learnt that some of the art was propaganda for rich men to justify their affairs with other married women with his sense of humor. On day 4, Justin brought to life the famous statues and sculptures at the Palazzo Massimo alle Terme. As a bonus, he showed me the Baths of Diocletian. He told me that Saravanaa Bhavan (my favorite south Indian restaurant) was nearby and dropped me off there. The food was of course delicious comfort food.Eugene picked me up from Saravanaa Bhavan for a walking tour of Rome. We covered famous places like the Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain, Piazza Navona, Campo di Fiori. The highlight was the Pantheon. And I had my first gelato and a proper gelateria :-) thanks to Eugene.Day 5: Originally Eugene’s walking tour was scheduled for this day. But Rahul recommended Villa d'Este as an add on. His driver Mauro was fun to talk to. While I was blown away by the extravagance of Cardinal d'Este’s mansion (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), there was a surprise waiting for me that absolutely made that one-hour drive each way worth it. I’m not going to state what that surprise was that blew my mind more than Villa D'Este – for that you may want to book a tour with Europe Odyssey! The point I’m making is this: Rahul, his team of guides, drivers, and customer service staff are wonderful. And their prices are very reasonable. Grazie mille Rahul & Europe Odyssey. Ciao!
