From Hills to Sea: Florence to Venice in a Day

It’s not every day that you get to visit Florence, in fact it was one of those cities that remains on peoples bucket lists for decades. It also is not every day that you visit Venice, that famous city built on a platform in the middle of the Mediterranean! Driving from Florence to Venice in just under three hours, you will make your way through the splendid regions of Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, then arrive in Veneto (the region in which Venice is located). Spend the morning in Florence, seeing the most splendid art of the Italian Renaissance, then make your way to Venice, where you will be captivated by the beauty of each winding alleyway, and every picturesque canal.

Once two independent states continuously at each other’s throats, Florence and Venice have a competitive history. Venice has a major sea power, and brought wealth and culture from all over the known world. Florence stayed closer to home, and spread its influence by being a major economic power in the 15th and 16th centuries, thanks to the guidance of the famous Medici family. Both cities were major players in Italy, and the Mediterranean more broadly, and both made a lasting impression on the world with their artistic patronage.

Don’t wait any longer. Your time to see these fantastic cities is now!
