Rebirth on the River Arno

After a scenic 3-hour drive from Rome through the beautiful Italian countryside, you’ll be immersed in Florence’s timeless streets, where Renaissance art and architecture reach their zenith. Amidst the ageless charm of its streets, you’ll encounter the pinnacle of Renaissance artistry and architecture. In just one day, you’ll find yourself face to face with the greatest icons of history: the captivating Venus of Botticelli, the heroic David of Michelangelo, and the great dome of Brunalleschi.

No where else does art come alive like it does in Florence. Here, painting and sculpture transcend the museum walls, intertwining seamlessly with daily life. While the term “Renaissance” has become synonymous with Florentine art, it’s crucial to remember Florence’s Roman origins. Founded in 59 AD as a colony of Rome, Florence still bears the urban footprint of its Roman ancestry.

Embark on a journey to encapsulate a lifetime of beauty in a single day beginning with the Uffizi Gallery, where you’ll traverse centuries from 1300 to 1600, witnessing the evolution of Italian art through the eyes of its greatest painters. Then, marvel at marble in the Accademia Gallery, where Michelangelo’s David stands as a symbol of Florentine civic pride and artistic ingenuity. Wander across the Ponte Vecchio, a bridge that sparkles with gold, not to mention history. Finally, you’ll clamber up the Florence’s dome, witnessing an architectural feat that still baffles engineers

Uffizi Museum

Uffizi Museum

The Uffizi Museum is one of the top most visited museums in the world for a good reason. It houses the most important works by the most iconic painters of the Italian Renaissance. Think Michelangelo, da Vinci, Raphael, and Caravaggio.

Ponte Vecchio

Ponte Vecchio

The oldest standing bridge in Florence, the Ponte Vecchio isn’t just a means to get from point A to point B—it’s a destination in and of itself. Once a meat market, turned into a goldsmith's paradise. This is the finest place to get all those lovely souvenirs that your friends and family are begging you for.

Galleria Accademia

Galleria Accademia

There are many fine works, in fact, to see at the Accademia, but there is one sculpture that towers over everything else (literally). It’s Michelangelo’s David, of course. The Accademia was built especially to house the David, when Florence decided to save the poor guy from the elements. Fun fact: the only way to get the David out of the museum would be to take off the roof and helicopter him out!

Florence Cathedral

Florence Cathedral

For over one hundred years, Florence Cathedral did not have a dome. In fact it was not until 1436 that Bruneleschi, through an incredible feat of engineering, that the world was graced with this masterpiece. The largest dome in the world at that point.
