It concludes in front of the Basilica. After the tour, you may spend more time inside the Basilica, but re-entry to the Sistine Chapel and the Museum is not permitted.
The tour requires a minimum of 1 person per booking to be conducted. The tour/activity is designed to accommodate up 8 people, but you can write to us at info@europeodyssey.com if you are a larger group.
On certain days the St. Peter’s Basilica could be closed due to religious ceremonies; on those occasions we will not be able to visit the Basilica and instead will conduct an extended tour of the Museum & Sistine Chapel. From March 1st till 15th of November, every Wednesday the pope appears in St. Peter’s Square from 0900 am till 12 noon. The doors of the Sistine Chapel leading to the St.Peter’s Basilica will remain closed till 1:00 pm and hence we will not be including the St. Peter’s Basilica in our Itinerary on Wednesdays’
Items such as large backpacks, pocket knives, glass bottles, wine openers, large tripods, and big bags are not allowed. They must be checked into the cloakroom.
Photography is allowed in most areas, but flash is prohibited. Taking photos inside the Sistine Chapel is strictly forbidden.
Visitors are required to remove their hats when entering holy sites.
