A Valley Packed with Ancient Greek Spendor

Agrigento is a staple on all Sicilian adventures. Whether you are a lover of the ancient world, or simply an admirer of beautiful things, Agrigento has something for you. We will take you through the Valley of the Temples, one of the finest collections of ancient Greek Temples in the world. Our licensed guides will enlighten you, and bring clarity to these grand and imposing buildings. Then spend the rest of the day in the modern town of Agrigento, where you can enjoy the finest of Sicilian cuisine.

Agrigento was founded by Greek colonists in the 6th century BCE. It was originally called Akragas, but got the name Agrigento from the Romans, who occupied the city as they did with all of Sicily once they rose to the height of their power. Agrigento was a formidable force in Sicily, as is evident from the magnificent temples that they constructed. What you see today is only a fraction of what once was there. It’s hard to even imagine. Lucky for you, you don’t have to leave too much to your imagination, because we reveal all the splendid things that Agrigento has to offer!
